Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety.

07/06/2016 by admin in Blog

You will be glad to know that IHIF has now been made a member of the Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety.

This Alliance helps us to understand the 5 Pillars of Road Safety and as you know, IHIF is primarily focussed on the 5th Pillar i.e., Prevention , Treatment and Rehabilitation of Trauma Victims. The Alliance is focussed on meeting the UN’s Sustainable Goals and target of halving the number of road deaths by 2020. It is an umbrella organisation for more than 160 NGOs worldwide (including 13 in India) which are dedicated to this task. Unfortunately, India is one of the few countries where very limited change has taken place in the last 5 years and unless we NGOs and the Government work together to invigorate the process, we would miss the target as well as the deadline.

IHIF intends to vigorously work with the guidance of “Global Alliance” to reverse this trend in the next four years. One of the two links below gives out details of the Global Alliance, and the other one, opens on the IHIF page.
