New Advisor on the IHIF Board viz

“Head injury (or traumatic brain injury, or TBI, as it is now known) can strike any one of us unexpectedly.  TBI comes with a huge personal and social cost, resulting in more deaths in young adults than any other cause.

“Head injury (or traumatic brain injury, or TBI, as it is now known) can strike any one of us unexpectedly.  TBI comes with a huge personal and social cost, resulting in more deaths in young adults than any other cause.  For those who survive, the lifelong consequences can often be devastating. It is a growing problem in low-and middle-income countries – in India one person dies every 10 minutes due to TBI, and this will treble by 2020.  The work that the Indian Head Injury Foundation is doing addresses the basics of prevention and clinical care for patients– interventions that can make a real and substantial impact on the incidence and outcome of head injury.  I am delighted to be able to make a contribution to these efforts, and share clinical and research expertise with Indian colleagues working in the area.” ( Read more>>)
