CASE STUDY 9

A 5 year old child was brought to us with a diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). He has chief complaints of – hyperactivity, muttering to self, partial command following, eye contact but not able to maintain, and sitting intolerance for last two years.

He has history of several seizures attack since the age of 3 to till now. There were no history prenatal complications during pregnancy. It was twin preterm natural vaginal delivery (NVD), immediate birth cry present but birth weight was low (1.79KG).

Treatment and Home Protocol: –

The child was very hyper active and was not easily controllable and giving therapy at the Centre was difficult. Initial sessions were given at home. Slowly he became cooperative also his parents were educated for activities at home. Following activities like imitation exercise, run finger on infinity sign, paper tearing and paper ball making, shapes and colour sorting etc were conducted on regular basis.
